My Favorite Quesadilla. Ever.

Growing up in Southern California has given me a snobby appreciation for/love of Mexican food. It's generally my go-to food genre when my stomach starts yelling angry, hungry profanities at me. Favorite dishes vary depending on my mood and range from quesadillas to tacos, fajitas to chili rellenos- you name it, if it's Mexican, I'll love it. However, as with most great things, this strange, die-hard obsession brings one downfall: dubbing a Mexican restaurant as "great" or even "good" takes more than the ability to make a jumbo burrito. Upon relocating to Boston, I unhappily discovered the lack of tasty Mexican food the state has to over. That is, until I met Felipe.

Felipe's is a small, fast-food (ish) joint in Harvard Square where they do Mexican food the right way. One of the few things I craved since being away from Boston for nearly six months was a quesadilla (more like a grilled burrito) from Felipe's. What began as a late-night, post Harvard party snack, has blossomed into a full-fledged obsessive relationship. I can't even tell you what makes them so amazing- just trust me and know that they are. Their quesadillas even rank supreme to my hometown hero, Javier.

This past weekend I was reunited with my food soul-mate, and it was better than imagined. GO HERE if you ever happen to be roaming the streets of Harvard Square. Make sure you're prepared- they only take cash.
